Outreach

An outreach programme is a programme designed to help and encourage disadvantaged members of the community. Dr Katete plans to routinely organized outreach programmes in collaboration with universities and churches to support individuals, communities, schools, students, and hospitals.

The identification of need, target audience, and desired outcomes will help with the design of an effective outreach method. Some examples of outreach activities include public lectures, field trips for students or adults, community-based participatory research, community or professional workshops, the development of an educational brochure or citizen’s guide, partnering with secondary schools or a local volunteer organization.

There are various outreach programmes that target different groups e.g. STEM education outreach programmes for primary, secondary and university students, innovation and entrepreneurship programmes for everyone, fund raising for schools, laboratories, equipment, agriculture training for local farmers, etc.

Anyone is welcomed to initiate an outreach programme with Dr Katete and suggestions are highly encouraged.
